Transforming A Vintage Apartment Into An Airbnb Condo

By Artur Ciesielski | Challanges

I was hired for an Airbnb conversion consultation – this is the result.

The condo is in a small 4 unit community on a lush green yard in a fairly popular and in-demand neighborhood that’s close to the airport, two major downtown location and with many restaurants near by. It fits the profile of a well located vacation/short stay rental.

The condo itself was as original as the building. Built in the 1950’s it was well built, but now dated. For a regular rental it functioned well, but major changes were needed to make it a place that’s attractive to potential guests.

I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, for the most part.

The goal was to keep the place simple, clean and easy to maintain while providing a stylish, comfortable and functional place to stay for a few days, weeks or even months.

The kitchen was small originally and the foot print is about the same, but the cabinets are more functional, allowing for greater usage.

I chose a counter top height table and chairs. It’s more comfortable.

The bedroom was difficult to configure. It’s quite large, stuffing it with useless furniture make no sense, so I opted for a chair, a large hanger and a few pieces of distinct art. It at once clean, spacious and very comfortable, especially with the high end bedding.Arcadia Airbnb-4 Arcadia Airbnb-5
