Gaucin, Spain

By Artur Ciesielski | Adventure

This village is a result of long, turbulent and fascinating history from the Iberians, Phoenicians, Romans, Visigoths, Moors and Christians the reflects it’s multiple traditions and Andalusian roots.

We spent three days in this little town, just after leaving Malaga, with one day in Estapona and another in Gibralter.

Gaucin by night – just a quaint and quiet as the day.

In the mid 1800’s the castle was destroyed by 1 numskull who set off some gunpowder. At the time there were 80 soldier stationed there. From that time it’s been a ruin.
